TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s Kristin Grubka was honored on TopDrawerSoccer’s Team of the Week after leading the second-ranked Seminoles to a pair of victories to open the 2014 campaign.

The Melbourne, Fla., native tallied a goal and an assist as Florida State defeated No. 11 Portland (W, 1-0) and Minnesota (W, 4-1) to extend its school-record home unbeaten streak to 37 games (36-0-1).

Grubka played all 90 minutes in each match and was a big contributor in the defensive success for the Seminoles in both games. In the season opener against Portland, Grubka and the defensive backline limited the Pilots to just eight shots including two on frame en route to posting their first shutout of the season.

Against Minnesota, Grubka assisted on the game’s first goal in the 34th minute and then gave the Seminoles a two-goal lead in the second half on her first goal of the season.

Grubka and the Seminoles are back in action this weekend as they head to the Midwest to face Oklahoma State and Oklahoma on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
