TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Week one of the postseason is in the books for high school football teams in both North Florida and South Georgia. In less than a month, State Champs will be crowned, and that of course is the ultimate goal for everyone.
For the Godby Cougars, it'd be the perfect ending to a perfect season. The Cougars are undefeated on the year, and are one of just 16 teams left in Class 5A in the state of Florida.
Godby is coming off a win over Ponte Vedra, a win head coach Corey Fuller admits they made a lot of mistakes in, but now it's about looking ahead and getting ready for Bolles.
"Our motto is us vs. us. If we do what we're supposed to do, I think we will be fine," he said. "Bolles has put me out of the playoffs twice when I was at East Gadsden, so I need to try and rectify it and the game hasn't even been close. Last year is last year. This is a different group of kids, they finished the task of going undefeated in the regular season. That's over with. We have to clean up our mistakes and the penalties that we have."
Godby's match-up with Bolles is set for a Thursday night kick at Gene Cox Stadium in Tallahassee.
