TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - For the second straight year, the Godby Cougars boys basketball team is headed west to Las Vegas, Nevada to play in the prestigious Jerry Tarkanian Classic.
The Classic features some of the top prep teams in the country, and the chance to get to play them? It's priceless, said head coach Andy Colville.
The trip west is one Colville takes every year with his family, and the decision to involve his team and play a little hoops, a no brainer.
"I know everybody understands that I love winning and everything, but to be honest, the trip is more than just basketball," he said Tuesday night. "I mean, we go to Hoover Dam, we'll go to the Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood, they'll probably see some snow, we'll go up in the mountains. Those things are the things that I want to make sure they remember."
Godby kicks off competition on Friday.
