TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - In 20,12, Tyler Biggins was killed in a car accident. He was just 10 years old.
This weekend, to honor his memory and help raise honey for the foundation created in his honor, the Godby boys basketball team is hosting the first Tyler Biggins Classic.
Seventeen boys hoops teams will play Friday and Saturday in a weekend of good hoops for a good cause.
"I can't imagine the pain they've gone through but they want to make sure his name is remembered," said Godby head coach Andy Colville. "They have a foundation, the Tyler Biggins foundation, and we're going to use some of the proceeds towards a scholarship in his name here at Godby. It'll be a great time to bring out the family for a weekend here in December before Christmas."
