TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - For six years, Godby head boys basketball coach Andy Colville has hosted a youth camp for area kids. Every year, the camp attracts kids from across the Big Bend, and sometimes out of state. What it always does? Bring back former Cougars, and this week Quan Jackson was back to help out.

Jackson helped Godby to that undefeated  State Championship season in 2015, scoring over 1,000 points in his Cougar career.

He signed with Georgia Southern, and this season as a redshirt Sophomore for the Eagles, Jackson played in all 33 games, averaging just over seven points per game, and he was second on the team with 48 steals.

This coming all after earning a starting role, which came by taking advantage of an opportunity.

"This year was just a good year. I had to be patient at first, because I wasn't getting on the court, but then he started playing me and my confidence got up and now I'm a starter," he smiled. "Now I'm ready for this season. I just kept my head and kept fighting. I?n my head, I was like, I have to shut somebody down, and that's what happened!"

"There's a reason he has a State Championship ring and he's undefeated," added Colville. "His character is way better than he is a basketball player, and he's a good basketball player. You can't help but love Quan."
