TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — High school track and field is heating up across the Big Bend and South Georgia. Some of the area's best will be at Godby Saturday, February 23rd for the 15th annual Jesse Forbes meet.

30-plus schools, 1500 athletes, to give these athletes the best possible competition is what it's all about - especially so early in the season.

"We want good competition because we're very competitive in Leon County," says Godby Head Track and Field Coach Jesse Forbes. "We have some outstanding track programs. It's very outstanding and very good when you can get different opponents in different areas of Florida and Georgia to come in and run against somebody and then they can really see where they're at and what they need to do to get better at the end of the season."

Field events begin at 10:00am. Running starts at noon.
