TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Godby Cougar flag football team has already captured a District Championship this season. Next on the list? A Region title, and their second trip to the Final Four in three seasons.
The Cougars hosted Terry Parker for the Class 1A Region 1 Championship on Tuesday night, with the winner remaining alive in the hunt for a State Championship.
Godby took an early lead, and didn't look back, winning 26-0.
"I'm a PE teacher, so every day I walk in and I see all the banners hanging up, and we have one girls State Championship at this school and that was twenty years ago," said head coach Chelsea Parmer. "To be the team that gets a girls State Championship, that would mean the world."
Godby plays Tampa Robinson on Friday in the Class 1A State Semifinals, with the winner advancing to Saturday's Championship game.
