TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - There are few boys basketball rivalries in the Big Bend greater than that of Godby and Rickards High Schools. The two are not just rivals, they are District foes, and they have played each other eight times over the last two seasons.
Game number one of this season is slated for Friday night at Godby. It's a guaranteed sell-out, and Godby head coach Andy Colville not worried about future match-ups, all his focus is on getting the win Friday night.
"It's one game at a time, it's a cliche but I'm just worried about tomorrow night's game," he said Thursday at practice. "We'll get to the rest. They're a very tough team, very good team, always great competition, so we'll have to be at our best to win tomorrow night. They're very well coached and they'll be ready to play. We'll have to match that and up it a little bit. It'll be a great game I believe."
Friday's match-up is set for a 7:00 tip-off at Godby High School.
