TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - The 19th Tallahassee Tennis Challenger comes to a close Saturday, but on Friday, Forest Meadows was buzzing.
Funded by a grant by the USTA, over 200 special needs athletes from across the Big Bend came out to learn about the game.
It was a great morning for everyone, especially the athletes.
"I think it's quite fun," said Chiles senior Kevin McKinless. "I think I'm going to try tennis in the future."
"This is just the highlight of my week," added Glen Howe, who's with the City of Tallahassee. "This is kind of a culmination of the week. We have 250 Special Olympians that come out and just to see the smile on their face, see them hitting balls and just having a great day on a nice day like today."
The Tennis Challenger wraps up Saturday. The doubles Championship match starts at 12:30, while the singles match follows.
