TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - On Wednesday night, several high school girls soccer teams across the Big Bend took to the pitch in District Semifinal match-ups. The goal? To win, and seal up a spot in their respective title games.
In Class 4A District 2, Lincoln and Chiles faced off in one of two Semifinals. The Lincoln Trojans entered halftime up 2-0, and thanks to an early second half goal by McIver Levy, the Trojans sealed up the 3-0 victory. They will face Leon on Friday for the District Championship. The Lions beat Columbia in the other Semifinal, winning 4-0.
In Class 1A, the Maclay ladies faced Lafayette in one of the District 1 Semifinals. The Maruaders, scored early and often, winning by 8-0 mercy rule thanks to an Allison Weaver goal in the 58th minute. Maclay will face Rocky Bayou in Friday's title game.
