MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL) - High school football has been over for a month. Across South Georgia, we celebrated two State Championships at Colquitt County and Clinch County. In North Florida, Wakulla finished State Runner-up.
Now, some of the area's best get a chance to compete for bragging rights, as the War of the Border All-Star series kicked off Friday night. Round one featured the Big Bend vs. South Georgia in a game played in Moultrie.
Team Florida jumped out to the early 10-0 lead, but Early County's Jay Moses returned a kick-off for Georgia to cut the lead to 10-7. Florida took a 16-10 lead in to the half, but Team Georgia came back to win 24-23.
Round two of War of the Border heads to Basemore-Hyder Stadium in Valdosta on January 22nd. Kick-off is set for 6:30.
