ATLANTA – Georgia Tech has announced that redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Chase Roberts has been medically disqualified, thus ending his collegiate playing career.
Roberts, who played in eight games and started three at right tackle last season, missed the remainder of the 2013 campaign after suffering a concussion in the November 14th contest at Clemson.
“I want to express my thanks to Coach Johnson, the coaches, athletic trainers and medical staff for their support through this difficult transition,” said Roberts, a native of Duluth, Ga. “Playing under the lights at Bobby Dodd was something I've wanted to do since I was a little kid and it will always be a part of me. I love my teammates, my school and I will always be a Yellow Jacket.”
Roberts will remain on scholarship at Georgia Tech.
