Atlanta, GA (WTXL) --- Roberto Aguayo has never missed a fourth quarter field goal in his career until now. Florida State falls on Saturday 22-16 for its first loss of the season on the road at Georgia Tech. Aguayo's 56 yard field goal was blocked and Georgia Tech's Lance Austin returned it 78 yards for the game-winning touchdown with no time left.
Florida State had a chance to put the game away earlier in the 4th quarter, but Everett Golson was picked off in the back of the endzone by Jamal Golden. That was Golson's first pick of the season. That prevented Florida State from expanding the lead past 16-13. Georgia Tech answered with a 4th down conversion that led to the game tying field goal.
The win is Georgia Tech's first ACC win this season. This is Florida State's first regular season loss since losing to Florida in 2012. FSU falls to 6-1 and takes on Syracuse at home on Halloween Saturday October 31st.
