TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State moved up two spots, from No. 15 to No. 13, in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Poll this week while remaining steady at No. 12 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll.

FSU played five games opening weekend at the Hotel Encanto Invitational in New Mexico and finished with a 4-1 record. One of those four wins came against a top-10 team in Nebraska (No. 9 NFCA, No. 8 ESPN.com/USA Softball).

Florida softball opened their season 6-0 with wins over two ranked teams, and that performance vaulted the Gators to No. 1 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll. UF has six first-place votes in the poll while second-place Tennessee has 11 first-place votes. The Gators are ranked second in the NFCA Poll, behind the Volunteers.
