TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State softball team earned its second Top-5 preseason ranking of the 2015 season on Tuesday as announced by ESPN and USA Softball. It is the highest preseason rank by the Seminoles in the history of the poll.
“Top 5 rankings can be a nice accomplishment, but they don’t win ballgames,” head coach Lonni Alameda said. “This team knows that while they are being honored for their previous successes and future potential, they will only be able to realize their goals through the hard work day in and day out on the field, in the cages and in the classroom.”
The Seminoles are coming off of their best season in a decade where they won the 2014 ACC Championship, reached the Women’s College World Series for the eighth time in program history and finished with a No. 7 ranking in the country.
