TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s Mike Bristol was honored as the Glenn “Mooch” Myernick National Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Tuesday, December 9.
Bristol just wrapped up his sixth season at Florida State, where his primary responsibilities include the training of the goalkeepers and team defense. He took over as the program’s recruiting coordinator in 2012.
The Seminoles are coming off their first national championship after defeating Virginia 1-0 in the finals down in Boca Raton. FSU went through the NCAA Tournament without conceding a goal becoming just the second school in NCAA history (North Carolina in 2003) to perform the feat over a six-game stretch in the postseason.
