TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The time-honored prelude to the Florida State football season is right around the corner as the FSU Alumni Association presents the 62nd Annual Kickoff Luncheon.
The season’s first strains of FSU’s war chant — performed by the Marching Chiefs and FSU Cheerleaders — will fill the cavernous Donald L. Tucker Civic Center convention hall, along with the magical notes of the “FSU Fight Song,” directed by its composer and Alumni Association ambassador, Dr. Tommie Wright, to the delight of an expected crowd of more than 1,200.
Fans eager to immerse themselves in Seminole spirit won’t want to miss this exclusive opportunity to meet the team in person, hear from Head Coach Jimbo Fisher and President Eric J. Barron (B.S. ’73), and enjoy an action-packed lunch covering all things FSU football before they begin tackling their 2013 opponents.
Helping build the excitement to a fever pitch will be the “Voice of the Seminoles,” Gene Deckerhoff, recipient of the 2013 National Football Foundation Chris Schenkel Award for his long, distinguished career broadcasting college football for the Seminoles.
