FSU Athletics to Recognize Strozier Library Incident Victims, First Responders

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State Athletics, the Florida State baseball team and head coach Mike Martin will hold a special recognition Friday, April 17 to honor the victims of the Strozier Library shooting along with Florida State University first responders.

The recognition will occur before the top of the fourth inning during Friday night’s baseball game against Pitt on Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium.

In attendance for the recognition will be Florida State Interim Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Sally McRorie, along with FSU students, staff and FSU Police Officers directly involved in the library incident.

Supporters are raising funds for the medical and educational expenses of Farhan “Ronny” Ahmed, a victim in the Nov. 20 shooting.

Ahmed, a biomedical engineering student at FSU, sustained injuries that have paralyzed him from the waist down.
