TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Before the season finale on May 19 against NC State, Florida State baseball will hold a pregame celebration for head coach Mike Martin becoming the winningest coach in college baseball history.
The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start on Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium. The pregame presentation will feature FSU President John Thrasher and Vice President and Director of Athletics Stan Wilcox. A pair of tribute videos will also be shown.
Fans are encouraged to arrive at the stadium and be in their seats 30 minutes prior to first pitch.
Martin now has a career 1,976-708-4 record, passing Augie Garrido for the most wins in college baseball history. The Seminoles beat Clemson, 3-2 in 13 innings, Saturday evening to clinch the record. All of Martin’s wins have come at his alma mater.
The day prior, May 18, FSU will distribute Mike Martin bobbleheads to the first 1,000 single-game ticket holders. All season ticket holders will be reserved one bobblehead and will receive more information in the mail.
FSU will also recognize its seniors on Friday, May 18, before the game against the Wolfpack.
