TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - FAMU DRS alum Jazmine Jones left big shoes to fill upon graduation. She won four State Championships as a Baby Lady Rattler, and now, she's looking to add another ring to her collection, as Jones and the Louisville Cardinals are two wins away from a National Championship.
"It's just amazing, but we can't settle," she said after the Cardinals punched their ticket to the Final Four last week. "We can enjoy this and celebrate it tonight, but next week, we have to get right back to work."
Jones knows a thing or two about winning. She's all over the walls at FAMU DRS, and that fact she's found success so early in her collegiate career? Not surprising.
"She's a deserving person. She's a great person on and off the court," said Ericka Cromartie, who coached Jones in high school. "She's a great teammate and a great leader and I don't even think this is all that can happen to her. I think it's just the beginning. It did happen fast, but I do think this is the beginning. I think she has a whole lot in store for her in the future."
Right now, the future is focused on Friday's Final Four match-up with Mississippi State.
"Oh my gosh, I just can't believe it right now, it's so amazing, I'm so ready to get back!" she exclaimed.
If the future is anything like her past, winning is on the agenda.
"To see one of your former players excel at that level, and play on the highest stage you can in women's basketball, it's amazing to watch her," added Cromartie.
And hopefully we'll be watching longer than just Friday night. Louisville and Mississippi State tip at 7:00 on Friday.
