TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State leads all schools with four selections to ESPN.com's 2013 All-America Team.
On offense, freshman quarterback Jameis Winston and senior center Bryan Stork both made the team. The honor joins a long list of accomplishments for Winston this year, including winning ACC Player of the Year, the Davey O'Brien Trophy, and the Heisman Trophy. Stork is also the 2013 recipient of the Rimington Award, given annually to college football's top center.
Defensively, junior tackle Timmy Jernigan and senior defensive back Lamarcus Joyner also earned All-American honors from ESPN.com. Jernigan leads FSU's d-line with 44 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks through 13 games this season. Joyner has been a disruptive force all season in the Noles' secondary, recording two interceptions, five sacks, and three forced fumbles.
The ACC leads all conferences with nine selections to this All-America Team. The PAC-12 has six followed by the SEC with five, the Big Ten four, and the Big 12 one.
