TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Next week, the class of 106 graduates from Rickards High School. Friday was all about celebrating those seniors at a luncheon, and four student-athletes added a little extra excitement as they signed college scholarships.
Four different athletes from four different sports made things official. Katelyn Marshall kicked off the festivities, signing a basketball scholarship with Chatt Valley Community College.
Destiny Huggins, will run track and field at Division II Virginia Union, whole teammate Soloman Stevens will focus on cross country at Edward Waters College. BJ Johnson, who's journey was featured on WTXL last week, signed a scholarship Iowa Lakes Community College.
"It's what the program has always been about, molding the athlete," said track and field coach William Gilmore. "It's no hidden secret. Thank God that these students are performing in the classroom and on the field."
