Four Big Bend Baseball Teams Fall In Regional Quarterfinals Wednesday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The goal for high school baseball teams in the state of Florida is to make it to Fort Myers to play in little Fenway. The State Finals are held at the Boston Red Sox spring training facility, and on Wednesday night, the journey down south continued for area teams.

In Class 8A, the District 1 Champion Lincoln Trojans hosted Oakleaf out of Orange Park in Quarterfinal action. The visiting Knights scored three runs in the top of the first, en route to the 9-1 win, eliminating Lincoln from the postseason.

Chiles High School also fell in 8A Quarterfinal play, losing 7-2 to Atlantic Coast. In Class 6A, Wakulla also saw their season end, as the War Eagles lost a 6-5 match-up with West Florida.

Godby High School didn't fare any better in Class 5A play, as the Cougars fell 2-1 on the road at Rutherford High School in Panama City. Regional Semifinal action hits the field on Thursday in Classes 1A-4A.
