TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Today is the big day, Super Bowl Sunday and even if your favorite NFL team isn’t playing today, there’s still plenty of good reasons to watch.

Especially as Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle and former Florida State standout Derrick Nnadi takes the field tonight.

The Virginia Beach native is quite familiar with playing on the biggest stage in sports following the Chiefs' Super Bowl win just last season.

But when Derrick straps up the pads for tonight’s game his motivation to chase another ring is simple. It’s all about building a legacy and giving his community back home a role model to look up to.

Showcasing that you can truly accomplish anything you set your mind to.

“ I just want to be that type of guy that can be in the discussion of who were those really good players from my area. A lot of time you say A.I (Allen Iverson), a lot of time you say Michael Vick and a bunch of other players. I kind of want to be in that category because I feel like I put a lot of time and effort to be in this situation," says Nnadi. "I just want to give people in that whole area of Virginia just someone to look up too, whether it’s me, whether it's someone else from our area, just somebody to give them hope.”
