TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - On Monday, high school football teams in the state of Florida can begin practice. What better way to get the fans geared up for the season then hosting a fan day?

Florida High did just that on Saturday. The athletes got to interact with some young fans, there was a snow cone truck, and a bar-b-que cook-off - a good time to get ready for this upcoming season.

"You know it's football season. We're in the south and so everybody loves this time of the year," said head coach Jarrod Hickman. "We just want to bring more attention to our program and get people excited for football again and let them know we're close to starting. We're a K-12 school, so that's kind of a thing we do all the time. It's neat for our kids. Some of them are little brothers of the kids out here, so any interaction we can get with that K-12 elementary look is what we're about."

Florida High opens the regular season at home against Blountstown on August 31st.
