PERRY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Taylor County Bulldogs are entering their second season with Tanner Jones at the helm. This year, the Dogs are senior laden, and are ready to build off last season's 5-4 campaign.
There's a lot of expectation entering this season, especially after shutting out perennial power North Florida Christian in their spring game.
Jones said the Bulldogs have gotten in a lot of work in the offseason, and despite being one of just a handful of public schools in Class 3A this year, he said they are ready to fight.
"We just want to finish, finish every game," said Jones. "We need to start fast and finish fast. You always want to get off to a good foot. We were able to do 7 on 7's this summer, and we are happy with the outcome there. We're taking out spring game against NFC, we're taking our 7 on 7's, and we're going right into the season. We're trying to be as positive as can be and ride it as long as we can."
Taylor County plays Lafayette on the road for their preseason contest on the 21st. They travel to Dixie County to open up the regular season.
