QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) - Last year was a tough one for the Robert F. Munroe Bobcats as the school went 0-10. This year, the Bobcats are under new leadership and looking for big things.

Rodell Thomas took over the reins of the Bobcat program in the spring. Thomas has coached in Gadsden County for years, but it's his first time in the private school system, so things are a little bit different.

The biggest change are the numbers, as Munroe boasts just 17 kids on their roster. Thomas said his team worked hard this season, making sure they're ready physically for the grind of the season.

Coach Thomas said his guys will run the ball a lot this year, and one thing is for sure, the Bobcats are going to be tough.

"Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work," he said. "That's what we're going on. We're going on the fact that we're going to work hard. Regardless of the fact of the X's and O's, in the 4th quarter, we want to be ready to go in the fourth quarter, and if we keep the game close, by the 4th quarter, you never know what is going to happen, so that's what my job is is to have the kids ready to play football."

The Bobcats kick off the season on the road at Panama City Bozeman. They open up their regular schedule on the road at St. Joseph Academy.
