Tallahassee, FL (WTXL) - While everyone is sleeping, we keep working. That’s what they say at Lincoln High school. The Trojans kickoff every football season with Midnight Madness a football practice at midnight.

This year the Trojans practiced on the baseball field while the football field is being fixed up for the junior varsity season opener.

"Well it started in 1991 with Coach Wilson's first year here at Lincoln," Lincoln Head Coach Yusuf Shakir said. "It has always been his philosophy and it's our school's philosophy. We have always done it. The whole history behind it is we want to be the first to practice and the last to play."

Lincoln has six starters back on defense and seven on offense. "When it's time, when the clock strikes, we need to be ready." Shakir said.

Lincoln opens the season against Camden County on August 22nd.
