CAIRO, GA (WTXL) -- Rain wasn’t an issue for the Cairo High School football team during their midnight practice.
New head coach Steve Devoursney and the Syrupmakers want to keep the winning tradition alive, preparing his young team for the upcoming fall football season.
Coach Devoursney said he was surprised at the turnout since there was bad weather before the practice.
“The syrupmaker faithful showed up tonight,” said Devoursney. “that was good to see for our program.”
The syrupmakers have three starters back on offense and defense. They’re in the process in finding a new quarterback while trying to implement a new spread offense.
Cairo will play a scrimmage game against Bainbridge High School on Friday, August 14.
