FNF Camp Chat: Brookwood Warriors Look To Improve Off 11-2 Season

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - High schools in the state of Georgia are a week and a half out from the start of the season, preseason that is. The Brookwood Warriors were 11-2 last year, making it to the second round of the playoffs. This year, they're ready to win a Region title.

The Warriors will chase that goal be returning a healthy group of athletes from last year's roster, including 13 seniors. Shane Boggs enters his third season as head coach of the Warriors, and said having an established system and philosophy makes things a little easier.

Boggs said he's really excited for this team, and despite losing twelve seniors and although they're lacking in depth, he is confident this group has what it takes.

"I think every coach will tell you you just want to be your best," he said. "We're trying to get better every day. Our goal is to be better today then yesterday. I don't know that there's a number of wins out there, but certainly when we have the kinds of teams we have right now, we're going to try and win region championships and State championships. Really, it'll be great to see an opponent. At some point you get tired of banging on yourselves."

Brookwood will take part in a preseason scrimmage on August 14th, while the regular season kicks off at home against Jefferson County on August 21st.
