TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida State softball team had a season to remember, winning their third straight ACC Championship, and reaching the semifinals of the Women's College World Series.
Now, the ladies just took some time off, but not straying away too far from the softball diamond, as several Noles are helping out at Seminole softball camp this week.
The ladies said they're happy to give back, and having such a such a successful season under their belt makes camp that much more exciting for the kids, and the athletes, in attendance.
"It's humbling!" exclaimed Florida State second baseman Ellie Cooper. "There's a lot of camps these kids could go to, but I think it says a lot about our camps. We do a lot of different things, we play games, we play a lot of stuff, they get to stay in the dorms, so it's like a little taste of college so it's cool for them."
"So many of our current players want to be coaches and so I think that these kids that come into our program as campers, they're learning not only from this coaching staff but from our players," said head coach Lonni Alameda. "They love to give back and they love to teach."
This session of Seminole softball camp wraps up on Friday.
