TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida State soccer team didn't close out the regular season the way they would have liked, finishing 0-1-2. That's okay though, because the chance to win a Championship starts Friday.
The ACC Tournament kicks off in Cary, North Carolina, and right out of the gate, the Seminoles face North Carolina, who the Noles beat in October when the Tar Heels were ranked #1 in the country.
Both teams are still ranked in the top ten, and head coach Mark Krikorian said Thursday UNC is always a tough match-up, and playing the Heels now will only help them down the road as they look to defend their National title.
"I think we need to limit our opponents chances at our goal," said Krikorian of what'll take to do well at the Tournament. "If we defend as well as we can and take our chances well, I think Sunday could be a good day for us. We're certainly as talented as we were last year. It's been a little bit destructive recently with different players in and out, but the good news is they're all back, they're all here, and I think we're going to put our best foot forward."
Friday's match with UNC kicks off at 8:00.
