TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - After nearly a week off, the 3rd ranked Florida State Seminole soccer team welcomed in the University of Central Florida on Thursday night.
The Noles last squared off with the Knights last year's Sweet Sixteen, a match FSU won 1-0 en route to the program's first National Championship. The game, not as dramatic.
The Noles scored just before the half on a Megan Connolly goal to head in to the break up 1-0. Cheyna Williams scored a minute out of the half to expand the Florida State lead.
Connolly added another goal in the 57th minute off a free kick, while Isabella Schmid sealed it up with a penalty kick. Florida State improves to 5-1 on the year with the win.
They return to action on Sunday, September 13th when they host Grand Canyon. The match kicks off at 1:00.
