TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – No. 12 Florida State allowed just three baserunners to Boston College and went on to win by a score of 5-0 in game one of a scheduled doubleheader on February 28. The Seminoles have recorded 10 consecutive wins in regular season ACC games.
“It was a cold, rainy and breezy night but we played through it and came out with a win against a quality conference opponent,” said head coach Lonni Alameda. “Lacey was locked in tonight. She didn’t give them much to hit, and what they did get their bats on was covered by our defense."
The second game of the doubleheader was suspended in the top of the third inning with the game tied at 1-1. Game two will resume at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1 with game three following 30 minutes later.
“No one likes having to suspend a game, but it was the best decision for us tonight. We’ll be ready to go tomorrow to finish out game two and get after it in game three.”
