Marconcini hit .467 (7-for-15) in four games with five home runs, 13 RBIs, and six runs scored. The Seminole designated hitter opened the week with a solo shot in the bottom of the eighth that tied the game at 3-3 against the Gators and forced extra innings.
Against Pitt, Marconcini hit .500 with four home runs and 12 RBI as four of his five hits left the yard. In Friday’s opening game, Marconcini hit a solo shot in the first, recorded an RBI single in the sixth and unloaded on a 2-2 pitch for a two-out grand slam in the eighth.
In the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday, Marconcini gave Florida State the early lead with a three-run home run in the bottom of the first. After driving in his first run of the afternoon in the second game of the doubleheader with a sac-fly, Marconcini followed with a two-run home run on a 3-2 pitch in the fifth to complete the home run cycle for the week.
Marconcini, who entered the week with just one home run and nine RBI to his name, now has six home runs and 22 RBI while raising his batting average 53 points. He earned national accolades from Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger.
