TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida State men's basketball team hosted Charleston Southern on Monday night, and coming out of the half, led by just three.
The Seminoles have become somewhat of a second half time the first half of the season, and Monday was no different. For the second straight game, freshman Dwayne Bacon scored the majority of his points in the second half, 14 of his 20. He grabbed 10 rebounds in the win to finish the night with the double-double.
The guys are now on Christmas break, and after the game, said it was important to finish strong.
"You can't go in a game like this, it's the game before you go on break, and everybody's just so ready to go on break because we haven't been home in a while, so you just have to execute," said Bacon. "You have to come in and play the game first. Know that there's still a game."
"We've had to work very hard the last couple of games to come away with success," said head coach Leonard Hamilton. "That's the kind of energy in the second half both games I think we'll have to play with from the beginning to end. Hopefully they'll take that home and we'll come back and be able to pick up where we left off in the second half."
Freshman Malik Beasley had 16 points, while Jarquez Smith finished with 12.
