TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - When Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher was asked Thursday night is Everett Golson was going to start at quarterback, his answer was, "He can play in the game." When Fisher was asked if Sean Maguire would start, his answer? "He can play in the game."
Fisher obviously trying to keep Clemson, and the rest of Seminole Nation, guessing who Saturday's starter will be, but there's good news that came out of practice Thursday.
Linebacker Terrance Smith is expected to play for the first time since Wake Forest. Running back Dalvin Cook is also ready to go, and another face we haven't seen that will be available? Mario Pender.
Everyone's back and healthy, and the Noles are ready for a showdown with top ranked Clemson, and the biggest thing Fisher said they need to do is come ready to play.
"Lock into what we do. Don't have self-inflicted wounds. You've got to win the battles up front. The lines of scrimmage. The penalty battles and you've got to be able to make big plays," he said. "Don't turn the football over. Create turnovers and don't turn it over. Make plays and you've got to win the one-on-one battles – down the field, at the line of scrimmage, linebacker. When football gets down to an individual team game, you've got to win your battle."
Saturday's game kicks off at 3:30 at Clemson.
