TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - April 9th is when the Florida State football team returns to the gridiron. Now, it's just for a spring game, a glorified scrimmage if you will, but this year, the Garnet and Gold game has all the bells and whistles.
This year's game is in Orlando, at the Citrus Bowl, so it has a big time feel. Entering the match-up, there's some big time questions and some big holes to feel. Spring practice kicks off on the 16th, so some of those questions will be answered then, but on Thursday, a first look at the 2016 Seminoles was revealed as "Fourth Quarter Drills" hit the field.
It's conditioning, and helps get everyone ready to take the field for that upcoming spring practice date, but head coach Jimbo Fisher said he can already see the competition.
" They know if they perform, we're going to find ways to play them all," he said Thursday afternoon. "What I like is the way they're pushing each other to get the best out of each other. Really the last week and a half, two weeks, we're really starting to see that because those guys, they're getting good enough condition now, they're really starting to... I'm going to say this, it's not about talent or anything. Until you're conditioned, you can never play football the way it's supposed to be played. Once they got in there boy, you start to see that athleticism and ability."
Stay tuned to WTXL for more information about the Seminoles upcoming season.
