TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Every youth football player dreams of playing in the NFL, that's just what kids do. Those lucky enough get the chance to live their dream, and on Tuesday at Florida State, former Noles took the first step in getting to that big stage.
Nearly two dozen Seminoles showcased their stuff for NFL scouts and coaches. The main event? Cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who wowed the crowd. Ramsey was happy with his times at the NFL Combine, so on Tuesday, he just participated in position drills.
Ramsey is predicted to be a top five pick, but there is chatter he go could number one overall, and those that know him say taking Ramsey with the top spot is a no brainer.
"He's a freak. He's an amazing athlete," said Nile Lawrence-Stample. "He has amazing competitiveness and I just think that he's an overall monster."
Head coach Jimbo Fisher agreed. "Two things about Jalen. He's extremely confident, but this guy is extremely intelligent," he said. "He is a very smart person, and then he combines that with the instincts, and that's what makes the confidence."
Jalen is originally from Tennessee, and said that "home team" aspect is alluring about the Titans. "I want them to really feel like I'm the best player in this draft," he said. "I definitely feel like I am and I continue to show it throughout my combine and my Pro Day. Whatever else they want me to show it or need me to show it, I'll continue to show it."
The 2016 NFL Draft starts April 28th in Chicago.
