TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State quarterback Jacob Coker was granted a release from his scholarship and is expected to transfer.
FSU officials confirmed Coker's decision on Wednesday.
Coker appeared in eight games this past season in a back up role to starter Jameis Winston before injuring his knee against Syracuse.
AL.com is reporting that Alabama head coach Nick Saban visited with Coker and his family at his home in Mobile recently. Alabama is considered the most likely destination for Coker.
Coker is on schedule to graduate this summer from FSU and will be allowed to transfer without having to sit out for a year.
