TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - For the Florida High football team, this week is the week they've been aiming for.
Friday night, they'll take the field for the State Semifinals. It's where they were knocked out last year, and now this season, they're looking to get over the hump and punch their ticket to Orlando.
King's Academy is standing in the way, a team that's 11 and 1 with no big time wins, but head coach Jarrod Hickman says everyone makes it this far for a reason.
"I think anytime you're here you deserve to be here, you've earned the right to be here," he said at practice Thursday. "We've got to go out and play a good football game, but we're at home this year which is what we're excited about. We feel like we've been here a lot before so we're anxious to get over the hump and finish what we started."
Florida High's match-up with King's Academy is set for a 7:30 kickoff at Florida High.
