TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - On Monday night, the Florida A&M Rattlers hosted a doubleheader against North Carolina Central, with the women hitting the floor first.
The ladies led at halftime, and despite what head coach LaDawn Gibson called a "sloppy performance," the Rattlers picked up the 55-45 win.
"We just withstood their run," she said after the game. "It was a sloppy game, we missed a lot of easy lay-ups in the game, but at the end, we just withstood their run. They just stayed together, they played together. They just had fun playing, even though we missed a lot of easy shots, I just think they played hard."
The men hit the court after the women wrapped up, looking for the same results. The visiting Eagles pulled away early in the first half, and didn't look back. The led by 13 at the break, and cruised to the 81-63 win over FAMU.
Both the Rattler men and women return to action Monday the 13th when they host Delaware State.
