HAMPTON, Va. (WTXL) - The Florida A&M women's and men's basketball teams hit the road Monday as they traveled to Hampton to face the Pirates in MEAC competition.
The ladies hit the court first, and thanks to a double double performance from Khaderja Young (22 points, 12 rebounds), the Rattlers sunk the Pirates ship, winning 66-59.
The win marks the first time Florida A&M has defeated Hampton in seven years, and the win almost marks five wins in their last six games.
The Rattler men weren't as lucky, and despite outscoring Hampton 37-28 in the second half, the defending MEAC Champion Pirates sealed up 71-65 overtime win.
Both the Rattler men and women return to action on Saturday, when they host Morgan State. The women tip at 4:00, the men at 6:00.
