SAVANNAH, Ga. (Courtesy: FAMU Athletics) - The FAMU Softball Team (22-24, 10-2) lost a tough 3-2 Sunday decision at Savannah State, dropping their first MEAC series of the year, 2-1 to the Lady Tigers.
The series setback also dropped FAMU out of the division lead by percentage points (.888 to .833), as Savannah State moves in front at 8-1.
Last Wednesday, FAMU dropped a doubleheader at Jacksonville, 6-8 and 0-4, ending a four-game win streak. The Rattler Women are off for 10 days before completing MEAC play on Thursday and Friday, April 28-29 against Bethune-Cookman on the FAMU campus.
The Thursday, April 28 single game will be televised live nationally by ESPNU.
