TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Florida A&M may have a football coach sooner rather than later, and it could be a name local to Tallahassee.
Willie Simmons, who played at Quincy Shanks before a college career at Clemson and The Citadel, was first reported as new head coach by the Tallahassee Democrat.
Simmons is currently the head coach at Prairie View A&M, and sources close to the program said the offer was placed in front of Simmons at the end of the season, and it's a "matter of time before he accepts it or rejects it."
WTXL also learned that a press conference to announce Simmons as new head football coach could come Monday at Florida A&M.
