The Florida A&M Rattlers opened the 2018 season in style on Saturday night taking down Fort Valley State 41-7.

The Willie Simmons era opens in dominant fashion, the Rattlers offense put up over 400 yards while the defense was stout, allowing just 291.

The Rattlers forced two turnovers and sacked Wildcats quarterback Slade Jarman five times.

Ryan Stanley led the FAMU through the air, tossing for 115 yards and two scores while Bishop Bonnett tallied 81 yards on the ground on eight carries. 

Kicker Yahia Aly was another big star on the night, successfully connecting on six field goals, which set a new Rattlers record.

The win improves Florida A&M to 1-0 and they will travel to Troy, Alabama for a meeting with the Trojans from Troy.
