PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Craig Bowman's jumper with seven seconds left in the second overtime, lifted his FAMU Rattler Men's Basketball team to an 81-80 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference road victory at the Hytche Center Monday night.
Bowman finished as top scorer for FAMU with 25 points, cashing in four three-pointers, while junior Malcolm Bernard contributed a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
The game went to overtime tied at 67-67, as both clubs missed layups in the final minute, including K'Ja Johnson's close in try at the buzzer.
Bernard missed a jumper with four seconds left in the first overtime that would have won the game, sending the two clubs to a second extra frame tied at 74-74.
The FAMU women lost 61-47 on Monday night, shooting just 29-percent. Olivia Antilla was the only double digit scorer, putting up 14 for the Rattlers.
FAMU heads to Washington, D.C. for a Wednesday night bout at Howard University (7:30), before returning home for their home finale against North Carolina A&T (6:00) at The Al Lawson Center.
