TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida A&M Rattlers are looking to make their mark under a new regime this season, as the Alex Wood era officially began when the Rattlers kicked off fall camp.

New head coach Alex Wood enters his first fall camp as head coach of the Rattlers, and the mission is to improve off last year's disappointing 3-9 season. Wood said it's still early in camp, but so far, quarterback Carson Royal is standing out.

The Rattlers also return their offensive and defensive line, as well as some skill guys, but Wood says they still have a lot of work to do.

"What we're trying to hone in on right now is just physical and mental toughness," he said. "We are also trying to perfect the system, fundamentals and those type of things that are really the formula for building a football team."

Florida A&M kicks off the 2015 season September 5th at South Florida.
