JACKSONVILLE, Fl. (WTXL) - Three Florida A&M Rattler football alums helped lead the Jacksonville Sharks to the National Arena League title game Monday night, and two of them hoped to seal up the crown.

Former FAMU quarterback Damien Fleming, a Jacksonville native, helped lead the charge over the Columbus Lions. The Sharks led 13-0 at the half, and despite a late Lion comeback, they held on to win 27-21.

"It just speaks to all the hard work we put in all season. The guys coming in since February, putting in the work, I mean it's a blessing," said Fleming after the win. "I'm just happy we were able to bring a Championship to my hometown. Guys played hard all season. Everyone said we were supposed to lie down. We got everyone's best. We got everyone's best every night. I'm just proud of these guys and these coaches, the whole organization."
