LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) - Jameica Cobb and Tamiera Mobley scored 25 points each Wednesday night and Madison County beat previously undefeated Trenton 73-58 for the Florida Class A girls basketball championship.
Madison County (26-4) scored 10 straight points early in the first quarter and never looked back, winning its first state championship.
Cobb had 14 rebounds, four steals and five blocks to go with her 25 points. Josie Long finished with 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Cowgirls.
With Mobley connecting on six 3-pointers and Cobb grabbing 12 rebounds, Madison County used 13 Trenton turnovers to build a 24-point lead in the first half.
Emmarrie Carmen scored 10 of her 26 points in the third quarter to get Trenton (29-1) back in the game, but the Tigers could get no closer than 10.
Freshman Standrea McHenry had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Trenton.

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) - Jazmine Jones scored 18 points to lead Tallahassee FAMU to a 55-40 victory over Land O' Lakes Academy at the Lakes in the Florida Class 2A girls' championship game Wednesday night.
It is the second-straight state title for the Baby Rattlers and their fourth in five years.
Jones, a 6-foot senior who is committed to Louisville, also had 11 rebounds and six steals in her final high school game. LaKrista Walker added 10 points and Dominique Jeffery and Ambriel Scott combined for 15 rebounds, leading FAMU to a 42-29 edge on the boards.
Sophomore Audra Leipold led Academy at the Lakes (26-4) with 20 points.
FAMU (30-2) led all the way, coming out in a full-court press that caused 13 turnovers in the first quarter and helped the Baby Rattlers take a 23-point lead before the end of the first half.
